How to Set Up a Crypto Wallet in Under 5 Minutes

You do not need to understand blockchain technology to set up a wallet. You just need a phone and 5 minutes.

Option 1: Trust Wallet (Mobile)

1. Download Trust Wallet from the App Store or Google Play
2. Open the app and tap "Create a New Wallet"
3. Write down your 12-word recovery phrase on paper. Not in a screenshot. Not in your notes app. On actual paper.
4. Confirm the recovery phrase by tapping the words in order
5. Done. You now have a wallet that supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, and thousands of other tokens.

Option 2: MetaMask (Browser)

1. Go to metamask.io and install the browser extension
2. Click "Create a Wallet"
3. Set a password
4. Write down the 12-word seed phrase
5. Done. MetaMask works with Ethereum and all EVM-compatible chains.

The Recovery Phrase Warning

Your 12-word recovery phrase is the master key to your wallet. If you lose it, you lose access to your crypto forever. If someone else gets it, they can steal everything.

Write it on paper. Store it somewhere safe. Never share it with anyone. Never type it into a website unless you are restoring your own wallet.
